Alyssa Milano is speaking out against claims that she got Shannen Doherty fired from Charmed.

The actress took to social media on Saturday to share her thoughts about Doherty and Holly Marie Combs saying Milano got the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum let go from the USA series in 2001.

Her statement comes a month after Doherty stated on her podcast, Let’s Be Clear, that Milano got her fired from the show. Combs supported these claims by detailing a conversation she had at the time with Charmed producer Jonathan Levin, who told her that Milano gave the studio an ultimatum of her or Doherty, and they allegedly chose her.

Milano attended MegaCon in Orlando on Feb. 2, where she was asked about her co-stars saying that she was responsible for (spoiler alert!) Doherty’s character being killed off in the show’s season three finale.

“I don’t know one other show that has had the success that Charmed had where the cast still speaks ill of the experience a quarter of a century later,” she captioned an Instagram carousel of screenshots of a transcript of her response to the audience member’s question. “This was so long ago that any retelling of these stories from anyone is just revisionist history.”

She explained that everything that happened on set between the women was documented. They even had a professional mediator, despite being told that Combs and Doherty would not participate in mediation. There was an on-set producer, she said, who was brought on to investigate all the claims that were filed.

“It was then recommended by this mediator, after collecting testimony from cast AND crew—what changes should be made if the show was going to continue,” Milano continued her lengthy caption. “The studio, Aaron Spelling, and [the] network made the decision to protect the international hit that was Charmed. I did not have the power to get anyone fired. Once Shannen left we had 5 more successful seasons and I am forever grateful.”

She also thanked the fans who have had to deal with the chaos that has come from the show and its cast since it aired, which has kept them from just having the show to love and experience themselves.

“As always, I wish Holly, Shannen and Rose [McGowan], peace and light in their personal and professional journeys,” Milano concluded. “We all have bigger demons to fight.”
