CROATIA: Sunnyvale resident Peggy Graham recently traveled through the former Yugoslavia, a region that now includes Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Montenegro, with a side trip to Albania, as well. Dubrovnik, pictured at right, was just one highlight of the trip.

“Along with amazing caves, castles, lakes and waterfalls, we also learned a lot of history,” Peggy says. “Visiting Sarajevo and learning their tragic history from the people that lived there was very moving. They will forever be in my heart.”

TRAVEL TIPS: “The best restaurant in Old Town Dubrovnik is Rudjer Restaurant and Bar, where you have to order the famous brodetto seafood stew. (Rudjer) is located at the top of the iconic baroque staircase across from the church of St Ignatius. It was the perfect dinner after a sunset boat ride.”
